for weather updates before reporting to Work Days
Chapter Conclave workday is on March 13 at 10:00am at Camp Powhatan
Brothers in the New River District - From
August through May, Moneton Chapter holds Chapter meetings on the third Sunday
of each month, 3:00 PM, at Fairlawn Presbyterian Church.
You can serve on a Chapter Committee and help the District plan and carry out an
exciting program. If you are interested in Native American crafts and
ceremonies, come to the Chapter meetings and learn more. We will be promoting
summer camping at Powhatan and Ottari.
A lot is going on, and all Brothers, youth and adults, can play a part in making
Moneton a Strong Chapter. Encourage the Scouts and Scouters in your Troop who
are Brothers to come on out and support their Chapter!
The Blue Ridge Mountains Scout Reservation is definitely the place to be!
Scoutmasters, if you would like a team from Moneton Chapter to come to one of
your Troop meetings, we can explain all the details, show an exciting camp video
about our Council’s summer camp programs. Webelos leaders, we will be glad to
come to one of your Den meetings to show your second-year Webelos what they have
to look forward to when they join a Boy Scout Troop. Cubmasters, we will also
visit one of your Pack meetings to tell your Cubs and parents about exciting
District and Council summer activities.
Moneton Chapter conducts special ceremonies for Troops and Packs based on
American Indian themes. We have performed Eagle award ceremonies, Arrow-of-Light
and “Bridging-over” ceremonies, investiture ceremonies for new leaders, and
general inspirational ceremonies in the Scouting tradition. If you would like us
to conduct some special ceremony for your Troop or Pack, please contact the
Indian Affairs Chairman and we will work out the details with you.
